What is C24 timber?

C24 timber is a high quality grade of structural softwood used in construction projects across Scotland. C24 is superior to C16, and excels in internal projects such as rafters, floors and roof joists. C24 timber has excellent properties in bending, compression and density, so it performs well in structural roles. Due to it's superior strength and few flaws, it is normally used for load-bearing jobs that require a high quality appearance.

Is C24 timber suitable for outdoor use?

C24 timber is commonly used in load-bearing jobs that require a stronger material i.e. framing, flooring, roofing and exposed rafters. When C24 timber is treated it can be used for high quality decking and outdoor landscaping projects. For increased longevity, we recommend using a high quality wood preserver to seal the timber.
