Eliza Tinsley 8" Black Brenton Bolts

Black Brenton bolts are a type of gate hardware commonly used to secure gates, doors, and other enclosures. Here’s a description of their features:

1. Material: Typically made of steel, these bolts are designed for durability and strength. The "black" in the name refers to the finish, which is often a black powder coat or blackened steel, providing resistance to rust and corrosion, especially in outdoor environments.

2. Design: The Brenton bolt features a latch mechanism that is operated with a key or a simple lever. It usually consists of a bolt that slides in and out of a keeper or latch plate. The bolt is often cylindrical or rectangular in shape.

3. Usage: They are commonly used on wooden or metal gates, including those for security or livestock enclosures. Brenton bolts are typically employed when a high level of security is necessary because they are sturdy and can be padlocked for additional protection.

4. Size and Variations: These bolts come in various sizes to accommodate different gate types, ranging from small residential gates to larger commercial or industrial gates. They may also vary in design, such as having either a through-bolt or surface-mount design.

5. Operation: Brenton bolts are manually operated. They have a bolt that slides into place to lock the gate. A key or lever is used to retract the bolt when opening the gate.

6. Aesthetic: The black finish not only provides corrosion resistance but also gives a sleek, professional appearance, making it suitable for both functional and decorative uses.

Overall, black Brenton bolts are highly regarded for their strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal, making them a popular choice in both residential and commercial gate applications.
