What is Composite Decking Made From?

Composite decking is a high quality material that moulds together plastic resin with real wood and real wood fibres. This combination allows for a superb looking product with a much increased life span than traditional wooden decking. As it is made from recycled materials it is also good for the environment.

Is it slippery when wet?

Unlike traditional decking, composite decking does not become slippery when wet. Composite decking absorbs significantly less water than traditional materials and also limits the growth of fungi and mould which can make the surface slippery. This gives you a safe and secure platform to walk on, making it suitable for everybody including children and the elderly. When cleaning use warm soapy water on a brush.

Is it difficult to install?

Composite decking is simple to install and can be installed by any competent DIY enthusiast. It does not need any specialist or technical knowledge to be able to fit.

Composite decking is designed to cut like wood, so if you’re fine using a saw then you’ll be more than capable of installing this decking. The composite will not split or splinter like traditional wood which makes it even easier to fit. There is also the added advantage of not needing to treat it when installed.
