Beatsons Fence Rails (3.6m x 75mm x 38mm) are pressure-treated softwood backing rails used to support fence panels, pickets, or palings between posts. Treated to resist rot and moisture, they're a durable choice for garden and boundary fencing projects across the UK. Each rail measures 3.6 metres long, 75mm wide, and 38mm thick, suitable as horizontal support rails (backing rails) fixed directly to fence posts. Commonly installed as two or three rails per fence section depending on fence height. Pair with matching fence posts, slats, and fixings for a complete fencing solution. Ideal for DIYers and tradespeople replacing rotten rails or building new fence runs.

Beatsons Fence Rails form the structural backbone of a timber fence. Fitted between fence posts, the rail provides a fixing point for vertical pickets or fence slats, and helps stop the fence from sagging or twisting from wind.

Supplied as pressure-treated softwood, these rails are designed to resist rot and moisture better than untreated timber, extending the working lifespan of the fence. They're typically face-mounted to posts using nails or screws, or galvanised fixings for a more secure, weather-resistant joint.

The backing rail is supplied in a single size and natural sawn finish. Commonly two are used for lower fences, three for taller runs.
