Knauf Fire Panel 2400 x 1200 mm

Knauf Fire Panel offers superior fire protection. The additional fire protection properties of Knauf Fire Panel make it ideal for use in domestic separating walls (normally walls between different apartments or house and garage for example), garages and corridors. In the event of a fire, as part of a drywall system, Fire Panel is designed to slow the spread of fire between rooms allowing for safe evacuation of the building.

Knauf Fire Panel offers improved fire protection when used as part of a full Knauf system. Fire Panel can be used in applications that require greater fire protection in systems such as shaftwalls, I stud linings and partitions.

Made from aerated gypsum core, with premium paper liners on either side. Knauf Fire Panel can be finished with Knauf Jointing Products and Knauf Ready mix spray finish before decoration.

Areas of Application

Suitable for partitions, walls and ceiling applications where superior fire protection is required. 

Fire Panel is not suitable for areas of high humidity

Application / Installation

Typically installed as a part of a partition system, wall lining and ceiling system with Knauf fixings, jointing, taping and finishing products.

Use Knauf plasterboard screws at a distance of 300mm on horizontal joints and 10mm from bound edge and 13mm from unbound edges in from the edge of the board. 

Knauf Jointing Compounds with Knauf Paper Joint Tape can be used to finish the joints followed by Knauf Wallboard Primer prior to decoration. Knauf Ready Mix Airless Finishes (RMF), can be spray applied to the board following the jointing process. No Wallboard Primer would be required if using RMF to finish.

Should an alternative Gypsum or surface finish be required, seek guidance from the supplier on application. The type and number of layers of board used will influence the structural, fire, acoustic and thermal performance of the system. 

All products must be installed in accordance with Knauf’s recommendations and the current recommendations of BS 8000-8 2023.
