Beatsons CLS Treated - 2.4m Length

Our CLS is C16 graded, regularised for consistent size, and rounded on 4 edges for comfort whilst handling. Our CLS is kiln dried making it perfect for building internal walls and partitions. This timber has been pressure treated to protect against fungal and insect attack.

Why Choose CLS Over Sawn Timber?

Unlike standard "sawn" timber, which can be rough, uneven, and prone to movement, CLS is dimensionally accurate. This means every piece is the same thickness and width, ensuring your walls are perfectly straight and your plasterboard sits flush.

Pro Tip: When calculating your project, remember that CLS "nominal" sizes (like 50x75mm) refer to the wood before it is planed. The finished size will be slightly smaller (e.g., 38x63mm). Always plan your measurements based on the finished dimensions!

CLS (Canadian Lumber Standard) timber is the industry standard for creating high-quality internal partitioning and timber frame structures. Originally developed for the Canadian market, it has become a staple in the UK and Europe due to its reliability and ease of use.

Common Applications

• Internal Partitioning: The go-to choice for creating new rooms or "stud walls."

• Timber Frame Construction: Used for the main skeleton of residential buildings.

• Battening: Ideal for creating a level framework for plasterboarding.

• DIY Projects: Popular for building workbenches, shelving frames, and sheds.
